I just watched five hours of Little Dorrit (which I'm glad for, lots of fancy frocks with puff sleeves and silly ladies.. I'm all over it.) God I want to stuff my face full of dry biscuits and tea... laugh with loads of tight curls bouncing around my face... excited about colorful ribbons, gossip, intrigue and the latest french fashion. Insufferable Dickens though, wants me dead.. nephew's lover's guardian's brother's youngest daughter!!! I had to look it up I couldn't figure out this story's ending. I'm still a little confused. Not even the illustrious Andrew Davies could unravel his mess. NEPHEW'S LOVER'S GUARDIAN'S BROTHER'S YOUNGEST DAUGHTER. Ugh.
Anyway, I've done five hours of period piece romance.. I think I can do the lord of the rings trilogy, no problem.

Getting a wireless keyboard for my PC was the best idea I've EVER had.. :D
Today has been a killer awesome day. I took the metro to long beach to hang out with Chante and Casey before they move to Las Vegas.. I got home and found out I won runner-up prize for a 6 word short story (prize is a copy of Wordy Shipmates by Sarah Vowell.) My wireless keyboard and bakugan came in the mail. Did I mention it's RAINING! Pretty hard too.
Raymond is bringing dinner home for me. I got about 3.5 hours of sleep last night.. I'm pretty exhausted.

I don't know if any of you have this, but I have gift guilt. Anytime someone takes me out, or gives me a present.. I'm instantly thinking I need to give them something back. I like giving gifts anyway, and this is probably a manifestation of that.. but I like to restore balance and hate feeling leechy. Raymond's friend and mentor Bruce took us out for dinner (a pretty expensive dinner for a whole bunch of friends) and well, it was last weekend and he is coming to have lunch with Raymond next week.. so I'm on overdrive to put together something that says "thank you so much for letting us visit your awesome home, hike with your awesome horses, and taking us out to an awesome dinner." Sweet Pea even made friends with two giant dogs and destroyed some landscaping in their escapades... well one thought her head was a tennis ball, but he's a puppy (named Charlie Brown!) and well.. they think everything is a toy (and sweet pea definitely looks like a giant squeak toy to me.)
I just bought some organic horse and dog treats online.. they should get here by the end of the week. I might buy a bottle of wine or something... it's the or something I'm not sure about. :( In better news, I get to see Chante today (and hopefully again on Friday.) Her going-away present was far easier to put together. I found a Ratatouille apron/hat set on Disney Rewards.. it's a kid size, but she's a miniature person. She's going to Las Vegas to study art so I'm also getting her some artsy-fartsy stuff. She's on the move, so nothing bulky..

I'm supposed to be neck deep in photography/band reviews, but I think I'm going to skip town and drive to Venice beach to draw the canals. I tried drawing all weekend, but there wasn't any time.. and the car ride was too bumpy.
- find a bbq pit big enough to host a rehearsal dinner of 30+ people in Yosemite valley (I've been going to the park pretty much every year since I was a little thing and haven't seen such a place.)
- make costumes for RayRay's 12 days of christmas (this was sprung on me yesterday)
- finish portfolio for CalArts and get it out early this year (need to finish this sketchbook)
- put more drawings in my animal life-drawing book
- put together another portfolio of drawings for Otis/ArtCenter/UCLA
- get a baby-shower gift for my cousin's baby
- call Raymond's sister about tomorrow (I got some passes to see Bolt in Century City.. oh yeah, call the screeners and let them know I need 4 tickets, not two.)
- buy save the dates
- Write out save the dates
- get photo stamps made
- send back national park service permit form
- Read that script for an animated feature for Raymond
- give sweet pea and makayla baths (makayla brought fleas back from the kennel two weeks ago, and they've been leaping back and forth from bathed dog to bathed dog.. )
- hang out with chante as much as possible before she moves to las vegas.. how could i forget that!
I know I'm forgetting some things. Look for houses is mixed somewhere in there, but we are officially waiting out the market. The house we wanted had seven bids on it. It was too good to be true, but I got all the paperwork for the next time. Oh, and every other wedding related thing... invites, flowers, music, screens, scouts etc..
I feel like something was planned this weekend, and I can't remember what it was. :(
